Tree Removal in Dublin, Ohio

Dublin is where we do most of our work. Big established trees on older streets, tight back yards in newer subdivisions, and storm damage that has to be dealt with the same night. Here is what tree work in Dublin usually looks like and what it helps to know before you call.

What We Run Into Here

Four things that come up on Dublin trees

Mature hardwoods on established lots

Plenty of Dublin's older streets are lined with large, long-established hardwoods. Big trees hold big deadwood, and a limb that has been dead for two seasons is the one that comes down on the roof. Those trees usually need trimming and deadwood work rather than removal.

Ash trees that never recovered

Emerald ash borer went through central Ohio and left standing dead ash behind. A dead ash gets brittle, sheds limbs without warning, and is harder to climb the longer it stands, so it is worth dealing with before it comes apart on its own.

Fenced back yards and narrow side yards

Newer Dublin subdivisions put houses close together. There is often no straight line from the street to the tree, so material comes out through a gate by hand and the stump gets ground with a walk-behind machine that fits through it.

Storms that come through fast

Summer storms take limbs out of tall trees and drop them on roofs, fences, and drives. Because our hours are 24 hours, a Dublin call about a tree on a house at two in the morning is a normal call.

Access

Getting to the tree is half the job

In Dublin the tree is usually in the back. Before we quote a removal we want to know how we reach it: whether a truck or a chipper can get down the side of the house, how wide the gate is, whether there is a patio, a deck, a pool, or a play set under the canopy, and what the neighbour's side of the fence looks like.

When nothing can drive back there, the tree comes down in pieces and the wood is carried out. That is a normal way to work a Dublin back yard, and it is better to plan for it up front than to find out on the day.

If your tree is in the strip between the sidewalk and the street, or otherwise in the public right-of-way, the city may have a say in what happens to it. It is worth a call to the City of Dublin before scheduling that one.

Storm Work in Dublin

When a limb is already on the house

After a storm the calls are all the same shape: a limb across the roof, a trunk split with the top hung up in what is left of the tree, or a tree across the driveway. Hung-up and leaning trees are still loaded with tension, which is what makes them dangerous to cut into without a plan.

Get everyone away from under it, keep clear of anything touching a power line, and call. Our hours are 24 hours, so a Dublin storm call does not have to wait for the morning.

Dublin Services

What we can do at a Dublin property

  • Tree Removal — Whole trees taken down, including tight-quarters removals close to houses, fences, and power lines.
  • Tree Trimming — Canopies thinned and reduced, limbs cleared off roofs, gutters, driveways, and power lines, dead and hanging limbs taken out, low branches raised.
  • Brush Removal — Overgrown brush, fence lines, and tree lines cleared, fallen limbs picked up, brush piles hauled away, and grown-in property edges opened back up.
  • Stump Removal — Stumps ground down below grade, grindings cleaned up, and the spot backfilled so it can be seeded or mulched.
  • Storm Cleanup — Fallen and hung-up trees, split trunks, limbs on roofs and vehicles, and blocked driveways.

We also work in Columbus, Powell, Hilliard, Olentangy, Marysville, Plain City, and Delaware, plus nearby communities.
