What Helps on the Call

Five things to have ready

None of this has to be exact. Rough numbers and a plain description get us close enough to talk about scope and give you a real estimate.

• Roughly how tall it isCompare it to the house. Taller than the roof, twice the roof, or somewhere in between is close enough.
• How close it is to the houseFeet from the siding, the fence, the garage, or a neighbour's property. Anything under the canopy matters too: a deck, a patio, a pool, a shed, a play set.
• Whether it is standing, leaning, or already downA dead tree that is still standing, a tree leaning over a roof, and a trunk already on the ground are three different jobs.
• Whether a truck can reach itCan a truck get down the side of the house or into the back yard, and how wide is the gate? If not, the material comes out by hand and that changes the work.
• Whether anything is touching a power lineIf a limb or trunk is on a line, stay away from it and tell us on the call.
